It is my great privilege to be the Principal of SNDT Arts and Commerce College for Women, Pune, the first College, established by the great educationist Bharatratna Late Shri. Dhondo Keshav Karve (Anna). By establishing this college, Dr. Karve started a new chapter in women’s overall development through Higher Education. Started with one college in Pune, today, more than 350 colleges are associated with SNDT Women’s University. In more than 100 years, the institution has undergone great transformations such as changing the name, shifting its head office from Pune to Mumbai etc. Today, SNDT enjoys privilege to serve at national level, spreading its work of education in many states, the first of its kind. Though the college has completed 100 years, its relevance is still useful to the current generation. Thousands of alumni have availed the benefits of education and have transformed not only their lives, but of the people around them.

The college has touched many landmarks such as NAAC Accreditation, starting new and socially beneficial courses etc. Unique specializations offered by the college makes it more demanding for the aspirants. In order to cope up with the changing environment, it has implemented the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 in letter and spirit. Due to NEP, the college is in a position to offer more skill based and multidisciplinary courses and programs.

The College receives excellent guidance from Hon’ble Prof. Ujjwal Chakradeo Madam, Hon’ble Vice- Chancellor, Dr. Rubi Oza, Hon’ble Pro_Vice-Chancellor and Dr. Vilas Nandavadekar, Hon’ble Registrar of the University. Under their visionary leadership and guidance, the College is achieving remarkable progress in various areas.

For the Growth and Development of the College, senior faculty members and administrative staffs are actively working on preparing a vision document which can act as a guiding framework for the College’s activities over next five years. Rejuvenation of the existing buildings and proving suitable educational tools & equipment to the students through various sources of funds, is on the agenda. In the light of these initiatives, I firmly believe that, I am at the right institution where I can contribute to realizing the collective their dream of fostering and cultivating “sanskrutas” in their respective fields.

I am truly blessed to be part of this extra-ordinary institution and its remarkable journey of growth. With the help and support of all the stakeholders, I am confident that, this journey will be both fulfilling and enjoyable. this journey will be enjoyable.
