The Department of English at SNDT Arts and Commerce College for Women, Pune was established in 1916, making it one of the oldest departments of the institution. For many decades, the Department offered Communication English, equipping students with language proficiency for academic and professional life. In 2015, English was introduced as a Major subject, and since then, the Department has been successfully offering English Literature along with language courses.
