The Music Department of SNDT College, Pune, is one of the oldest and most prestigious departments in the city, having completed a glorious journey of 85 years. It was established with the objective of preserving and promoting the rich tradition of North Indian Classical Music.
Eminent musicians such as Dr. Veena Sahasrabuddhe, Vidushi Dr. Malutai Bidkar, Dr. Shobha Gurjar, and Dr. Lata Godse have enriched the department with their valuable contributions. Under their guidance, talented students like Anuradha Kuber, Madhura Panse, and Manjushree Oak have achieved national recognition.
The department provides both theoretical and practical training in music, fostering research, performance, and teaching skills. It plays a vital role in empowering women through artistic and professional growth. The mission of the department is to instill dedication, discipline, and devotion inherent in Indian classical music, inspiring students to carry forward this rich legacy.
