What began as a pioneering effort to uplift women through education has grown into a dynamic citadel of learning, nurturing generations of confident, capable, and socially responsible individuals.
With a strong foundation rooted in values and innovation, the University and its affiliated colleges consistently strive to expand their reach, enhance academic standards, and create meaningful opportunities for women to excel in every sphere of life.
Our Principal’s Vision for Excellence
It is my great privilege to be the Principal of SNDT Arts and Commerce College for Women, Pune, the first College, established by the great educationist Bharatratna Late Shri. Dhondo Keshav Karve (Anna). By establishing this college, Dr. Karve started a new chapter in women’s overall development through Higher Education. Started with one college in Pune, today, more than 350 colleges are associated with SNDT Women’s University. In more than 100 years, the institution has undergone great transformations such as changing the name, shifting its head office from Pune to Mumbai etc. Today, SNDT enjoys privilege to serve at national level, spreading its work of education in many states, the first of its kind. Though the college has completed 100 years, its relevance is still useful to the current generation. Thousands of alumni have availed the benefits of education and have transformed not only their lives, but of the people around them.
