    National Cadet Corps (NCC)

    NCC Overview

    The NCC (National Cadet Corps) unit at SNDT Women’s University plays an important role in developing discipline, leadership, and a sense of national service among students. The NCC program at SNDT colleges offers structured training that includes drill practice, physical fitness, weapon training basics, and participation in camps such as Annual Training Camps and National Integration Camps. Cadets also engage in community service activities like cleanliness drives, blood donation camps, and awareness programs, which help build social responsibility. Through NCC, students get opportunities to attend prestigious events like the Republic Day Parade and can pursue careers in the armed forces or other uniformed services. Overall, the NCC unit at SNDT provides a platform for holistic personality development, fostering confidence, teamwork, and patriotism among young women.

    Ncc (Army Wing)

    The NCC Army Wing focuses on land-based military training. Cadets learn drill, map reading, field craft, weapon handling basics, and participate in camps that simulate army life. This wing helps students develop discipline, physical fitness, leadership qualities, and prepares them for careers in the Indian Army or other defense services.

    Ncc (Naval Wing)

    The NCC Naval Wing, on the other hand, is centered around maritime training. Cadets are introduced to seamanship, navigation, boat pulling, sailing, and basic knowledge of the navy. They may also get opportunities for sea camps and water-based activities, which build confidence, teamwork, and technical skills related to naval operations.

    Criteria for Selection in National Cadet Corps

    • Students must be enrolled in the FY BA or FY BSc program at SNDT College.
    • The student must be a citizen of India or a subject of Nepal.
    • Applicants should possess good character and must not have any criminal record.
    • Students must be willing to commit to three years of NCC training, leading to the C-Certificate.
    • Candidates must meet the physical fitness standards set by NCC. This typically includes physical tests such as running, push-ups, sit-ups, and overall endurance assessment.
    • Preference may be given to students with special skills or talents, including sports, music, dance, or other extracurricular achievements.
    • After securing admission in the FY BA/FY BSc program at SNDT College, students can fill out the NCC enrollment  form to apply.
