    Programme Overview

    The Music Department of SNDT College is one of the oldest and most prestigious music departments in Pune, with a glorious legacy of 85 years dedicated to preserving and promoting North Indian Classical Music. Renowned musicians such as Dr. Veena Sahasrabuddhe, Vidushi Dr. Malutai Bidkar, Dr. Shobha Gurjar, and Dr. Lata Godse have greatly enriched the department through their guidance and contributions. The department offers a comprehensive B.A. in Music program that combines theoretical knowledge with practical training in vocal, instrumental, rhythm, musicology, and performance studies. It aims to nurture talented students, promote research and artistic excellence, and empower women through professional and cultural growth while inspiring them to carry forward the rich heritage of Indian classical music.
